Why It Lasts
Most of what decides whether a landscape holds up in Mukilteo happens below the surface. Heavy soil, a long wet season and lots that fall away toward the Sound mean grading, base depth and drainage have to be right before anything visible goes in.
We excavate to depth, compact crushed rock in layers rather than all at once, and give water somewhere to go before the pavers, the wall or the planting arrives. It is the part nobody photographs, and it is the reason a patio is still flat in ten years.
A yard should read as one space, not a set of separate projects bolted together over the years. We plan the hardscape, the irrigation, the lighting and the planting against each other from the start, so the runs are buried once and the finished space works as a whole.
